Three photographs for the Art Show in Gimli, July 2011

Leif Norman

Each year the Icelandic Festival (Islendingadagurinn) in Gimli Manitoba has sandcastle building, music, carnival rides, viking battles and an art show.

Since 2003 I have been entering three (the maximum allowed per year) works of art.

This year I am showing some nice shots I got in Iceland last August (2010).

The glacial lagoon in South East Iceland is one of the most magical places I have ever been. (The ice makes noises; squeaks, booms, tinkles, roars…)

News Flash! My photo of the Glacial Lagoon won 3rd Honourable Mention in the Art show!

That means it was the 4th best over all.

An old lady was heard to remark: “It LOOKS like art, but it’s just a photo.”

(sigh)

These 12 x 18 prints are for sale. There are only one of each, so they are “unique”, until I print more out, which might be never.

So if you want a nice photo of an Icelandic Horse, an Icelandic Dog or some Icelandic Ice contact me.
