Road Trip out West, May 11, 2018

Heading from Kamloops to Cinnamon campsite just west of Lilloet BC.

Grilled meat on the campfire. The real reason I like to sleep in a tent.

Leif attempts to photographically express the beauty of nature and daftness of the man made environment outside Kamloops BC.

We camped directly next to the fence of the RV storage yard and within the constant noise of the highway.

Riverside Park in Kamloops BC.

For some reason I gravitate towards a cold eye on the man made environment inspired by the New Topographics movement in 1970’s photography. I feel that the images are kind of sarcastic and critical of human behaviour, though it may not come though in the final photo.

In July 2017 there was a forest fire near the Hat Creek Ranch on highway #99

10 months after the forest fire

I was mesmerized by the aftermath of the forest fire. Some trees had been utterly burned to the ground and others were only killed but the needles had not been ignited. How can that be?!
