Not that Kevin Bacon. This one was born in Winnipeg.
(My Girlfriend went to school with a kid named Michael Jackson. He was white. He was born in 1983. What were his parents thinking?)
Kevin Bacon,
with the assistance of Symon,
and Adam Brooks as the protagonist,
shoots an 8mm film for the
“One Take Super 8 Event”
All I can say is that it involves a knife and a finger. I don’t want to ruin the ending. But it might involve cutting off a finger.
You and Kevin will see the film for the first time at:
The Gas Station Arts Centre
Oct 2 2011 at 7pm
WNDX Winnipeg’s Festival of Film & Video Art
From the WNDX website:
“Just like the Jets, but far more affordable, the One Take Super 8 Event returns to Winnipeg to the rapturous joy of fans and filmmakers alike. With a single cartridge of super 8 film and unlimited creative license, Manitobans will make their cinematic masterpieces in 200 seconds or less. All films will premiere exactly as they were shot, with no one seeing the films before they’re projected on screen. Small gauge films on the big screen with a cash bar, sounds like a classy Sunday night in the making.
In addition to this year’s 6th annual event, WNDX is releasing a special edition DVD highlighting one reel wonders from the past five WNDX events. Just like great concerts deserve great concert albums, we’ve tried to capture the range and diversity of films from the ‘live’ events onto a digital format, so you can enjoy these films again and again in the comfort of your own home. This might well be one of the most entertaining and eclectic collections of Winnipeg films ever assembled on one medium. If it were any cooler, K-Tel would be all over it.”
Très bon site. Je l’ajoute de suite à mon technorati.
