Girls! Girls! Girls! – “Tools of the Trade”
Thank you for coming to the 9th Annual Girls! Girls! Girls! as we explore the theme “Tools of the Trade”.
The simplest way to define a tool is “an object that our opposable thumbs allow us to pick up and use to perform a task in our trade.”
Simple is not part of the world of Girls!Girls!Girls! Our talented local women artists have explored many definitions of tools and how they affect our lives. Some tools help us cope, others cause us to break down; some stimulate us, others leave us numb; some feed us, others cause us emptiness; some bring us joy, some pain; some allow us to hide, and some reveal all. Tools can build up or they can destroy.
We are pleased once again, to be raising funds for the Gas Station Arts Centre’s Capital Improvement Fund–the sharing of your resources will help equip the GSAC and all its endeavours.
Enjoy the Gala!–It is our dear hope that none of you go home feeling like a tool.
Ruth Baines & Kim Zeglinski, Co-Producers. Cynthia Wolfe-Nolin, Curator.
