Curtis Nowosad, Winnipeg Drummer, asked me to help him out with his first CD release.
We started out shooting some pics of the recording at the end of June 2012.
Then I helped Curtis set up a WordPress website with the proper theme and hosting and widgets, etc…
Then we did a photo shoot for the cover of the CD, and I designed the whole CD inside and out.
Finally a poster was designed and then I shot the CD release party at the PARK theatre.
The full meal deal!

Winnipeg, MB, Canada – Know-a-sad Music is thrilled to announce the release of the debut album from Curtis Nowosad, The Skeptic & the Cynic, with a special album release party at the Park Theatre on Thursday, November 8th, 2012.
The Skeptic & the Cynic is a collection of instrumental jazz covers by popular artists such as Michael Jackson, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Black Star, and 2Pac, as well as two brand-new original compositions. The album features a powerhouse line-up: Curtis Nowosad on drums, Jimmy Greene on tenor saxophone, Derrick Gardner on trumpet, Will Bonness on piano and keyboards, Steve Kirby and Julian Bradford on bass, and special guests Laurent Roy on guitar and two-time Grammy Nominee Taylor Eigsti on piano. The band navigates these unlikely vehicles in a masterful way, lending their distinct voices to Nowosad’s musical vision.
The album release party will be held at the Park Theatre (698 Osborne St.) on Thursday, November 8th, at 9pm, with performances by Nowosad, Derrick Gardner, Steve Kirby, Will Bonness, Laurent Roy, Craig Bailey, and many special guests, including a rare DJ set by Steve St. Louis, who will be coming out of retirement to spin an all-vinyl, soul jazz party set. Doors open at 8, and music starts at 9. Tickets are $10 and are available at The Park Theatre, Music Trader (97 Osborne St.), Jazz Winnipeg (100 Arthur St.), ParkTheaterVideo.com, or by email at Know.a.sad.Music@gmail.com.
This release also marks the launch of Know-a-sad Music, a platform for Curtis Nowosad to release and distribute his music locally, nationally, and internationally. The website, CurtisNowosad.com, was launched in mid-September.

This is the photo that was chosen for the cover of the CD. It was only intended to be a shot to show Curtis in the studio with some photo lights to put on the blog, but we liked it so much it became the cover shot.
