Citizen of Photography now selling prints by Leif Norman, Nov 15 2011

Leif Norman

These photos are about Canadian and Icelandic cultural relations. Much time has passed and many things forgotten since the Icelanders first came to Manitoba. I wanted to raise the issue of heritage and veracity by focusing on food and costume, much like Folklarama, and also by making up the details as we went along. Think of these as fresh totems of Canadiana and European Emigration.

These photos were originally made for the 2009 Icelandic Festival art show in Gimli Manitoba.

The Icelandic Government bought the one of Freya dressed like the Fjallkona.
