Andrew Lizotte, Winnipeg Comic

Andrew got his start as a professional performer seven years ago when he began doing stand-up comedy. In that time he has already been on the road under the Yuk-Yuk’s comedy chain, done rural tours for the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, as well as performed in their local and improv gala shows. In 2008 Andrew was a semi-finalist for the Winnipeg edition of the Just For Laughs Home Grown Comedy Competition and is the winner of the 2011 Winnipeg Gone Wacky comedy competition.

In addition to stand-up, Andrew has trained and performed as an actor for ten years in theatre, film, radio, and accumulated nine years of improv training. He studied for many years under the internationally acclaimed troupe Crumbs, and completed the intensive program at the world famous Improv Olympic in Chicago.

As a writer, Andrew is also an accomplished playwright who currently works as a dramaturge for “The Manitoba Association of Playwrights”. His last play “The Getaway” was nominated for the Harry Rintoul award. Andrew also writes for the local television program Week Thus Far and just finished shooting the pilot of “Brad Even Paler” a new series in which he co-wrote and stars.
