From Duncan to south of Nanaimo.

South West of Duncan BC at the corners of Glenora Road, Indian Road and Marshall Road is a weavery full of looms that are used by Glenora Farm
“Glenora Farm is a place where care givers and people with developmental disabilities live, learn and work together, sharing in a culturally rich and productive environment.
We are working out of the impulses that stand behind the Camphill Movement, a worldwide organization of schools, training colleges and adult villages. This way of working is based on the ideas developed by Rudolf Steiner in his lectures and writings on Anthroposophy, with the assumption that every individual, regardless of ability, is an independent spiritual being. Developmental disabilities are treated, not as illnesses, but as a part of the fabric of human experience, and are cared for in the context of a healthy home and community life.”
“Welcome to the Teafarm.
We hope your visit online is a fun and adventurous experience. Come to the farm to taste our artisan tea.
We also have great neighbours.”

An actual tea plant growing in Canada. Victor says this and the many many more tea plants that he is growing on a southern slope in North Cowichan might be the first bunch of tea grown in Canada. They will be mature and ready to harvest in a few more seasons. (2014)

Winnipeg Souvenirs from the 1910’s 1920’s? The one on the left is Custard Glass. We bought the blue green mug on the right.

A little bit east of the Mountainaire Swimming hole is this Swimming place where the Nanaimo locals hang out

The local Nanaimo kids have a hang out down the Nanaimo river road. Just across the river from the Mountainaire Campground

When the water was higher the small rocks would tumble around and carve out smooth organic shapes in the bedrock

Amazing naturally carved river stone in the Nanaimo River. It has been a bit hot lately this summer in BC, so the water level is a bit low. Does that make sense?
